Shenandoah Wine Weekend is November 14-15
The Shenandoah Cup Celebration is Friday November 14 from 6:30-9:30 pm at the Yellow Barn at Shenandoah Caverns. The Caverns’ long-running Shenandoah Uncorked wine festival will take place at American Celebration on Parade across the street the next day, from 11-4.
To encourage overnight stays, Holiday Inn Express in Woodstock has a block of rooms available for $100 +tax. To reserve at the Holiday Inn, call 540-459-5000 and ask for the Shenandoah Wine Weekend rate.
Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail members may enter up to five wines each, which are then judged by a panel of experts who score them on a 100-point Wine Enthusiast scale. The wines awarded a gold medal (90-100 points) will be poured for tastings by the owners and winemakers at the Celebration. Attendees can taste the wines, chat with the owners, enjoy hors d’oeuvres prepared by Caverns chef Bekki Rogers, bid on Silent Auction items donated by our members and community businesses, and learn which wine wins the Cup.
Wolf Gap owner Janel Laravie will conduct a live auction of the top 6 gold medal wines.
Tickets are $75 in advance and available here:
Shenandoah Uncorked features 12 wineries pouring tastings, including eight from the Valley—CrossKeys Vineyards, Bluestone Vineyard, Muse Vineyards, Brix & Columns Vineyards, Wolf Gap Vineyard & Winery, Twisted Pines Farm & Vineyard, Honey & Hops and Misty Mountain Meadworks.
15 craft vendors will offer everything from furniture to soap, and seven food vendors will be onsite with snacks and full meals. All vendors except the food trucks will be inside the unique building where you will be surrounded by floats and other parade memorabilia.
It’s a festival for all the senses; from tasting Virginia wines that highlight the region’s distinctive terroir and delectable bites from food vendors, to gazing at unique and one of a kind crafts and historical parade floats.
Tasting Tickets are $25 until November 1 and include a souvenir glass. After November 1 tickets are $30. Non-tasting Tickets are $5--both can be purchased at the door or here.
