Presentation:  Nonprofit Board Development and Governance

This session is designed to provide nonprofit leaders and board members with an overview of key concepts in board development and governance. Participants will gain insights into best practices for board recruitment, orientation, and retention, as well as the importance of a strong partnership between the board and executive leadership. The session will include a mix of presentations and interactive discussions, offering practical tools and takeaways to strengthen board governance.

Workshop Objectives: Nonprofit Board Development and Governance

1. Explore Best Practices for Board Recruitment and Retention:
   Attendees will gain insights into effective strategies for recruiting, orienting, and retaining a diverse and engaged board, aligned with the organization's mission and needs.
2. Introduce Governance Models and Structures:
   Provide an introduction to different governance models and board structures, helping participants understand how to establish a strong and effective governance framework.
3. Enhance Board-Executive Leadership Partnership:
   Participants will explore the importance of a collaborative partnership between the board and executive leadership, focusing on clear communication and aligned strategic goals.
4. Provide Practical Tools and Resources:
   Attendees will leave with practical tools and resources that can be immediately applied to enhance board governance and support the overall effectiveness of their nonprofit organizations.
