Topic:  Professionalizing your Volunteer Program and Managing Volunteer Expectations: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Presenter: Matthew Peterson, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity of Winchester/Frederick /Clarke

Intent is to focus on organizations that use volunteers as part of their administrative and programmatic work. This talk will give anecdotal stories about my 9 years of volunteer management, how to create and/or improve a volunteer program, resources that can prove helpful, and ultimately, how to use volunteers as a “force multiplier” for their               programs so that the volunteers both perform as desired, but perhaps most important, walk away with a good experience – one that met expectations.
