2017 Officers and Board of Directors

President - Dawn Funkhouser | Valley Health/Shenandoah Memorial Hospital    

 Many generations of Dawn's family were born and raised in Shenandoah County. She grew up here and returned from California  to raise her family. Dawn loves the small community and support. She has a sales and marketing background and currently works  for Valley Health. Dawn has a passion for business and chamber work. She is excited with the direction and focus of the  Chamber and what we are able to bring our members.

Vice President - Chris Boies | Lord Fairfax Community College 

Chris Boies is the Vice President of Financial & Administrative Service for Lord Fairfax Community College where he oversees the College’s finances, purchasing, facilities and construction, technology, police and security, special events, food service, and various other operations.  Prior to working at LFCC, Chris held various roles in local government, including serving as the town manager of New Market and as the Shenandoah County Director of Planning & Zoning.  Chris lives west of Strasburg with his wife Brandy and their three daughters: Ella, Emily, and Elizabeth.

Treasurer - Kaitlin Pomerleau | Relay for Life           

Kaitlin is the American Cancer Society’s Community Manager for Shenandoah County, Page County, and James Madison University. A native of Wisconsin, Kaitlin fell in love with nonprofits at a young age volunteering in her local community. Kaitlin received her BA in Political Science and International Students from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Kentucky. At the American Cancer Society she works with teams of volunteers to implement programs and services for cancer patients and their families, educate community members about cancer risks, early detection, and prevention, and manages all local Relay For Life events.

Secretary - Jaynelle Walker | City National Bank       

Jaynelle was born and raised in Shenandoah County.  She graduated from Central High School in 1997.  Jaynelle has been with City National Bank for 20 years having started with them in her senior year in high school. She is an Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager/Cash Management Specialist.  She currently resides in Mt Jackson with her two beautiful daughters, Addison and Alyssa.

 Past President - Mike Ashley | Ashley's Laundromat and Ashley's Car Wash

 Mike is the Director of Investigations, and a Licensed Private Investigator [DCJS # 99-404604], Instructor and Compliance Officer at Commonwealth Investigation Services LLC.

 DIRECTORS:

Rich Church |  The Market and Spin-a-Yarn            

Rich has lived in Shenandoah County for 39 years. He is retired from Shentel and currently is the Co-Owner of The Market. He served as Chamber President in 20? The Market opened in 2003 selling mostly bulk food, catering toward baking products. We have expanded our product line over the years to include organic and gluten-free items, locally made items and hard to fine products. We opened Spin-a-Yarn in 2013, our yarn shop next door. 

   Dennis Dysart | First Bank

 Dennis has been in banking for 24 years. He serves on the Boards of the Virginia Association of Community Banks (VACB),  The  Shenandoah Education Foundation, and the Strasburg Community Scholarship Trust Fund, Inc. Dennis is a Youth basketball coach for Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation.

  Linda Kurtz | Dutch Haven Assisted Living

 Linda has been doing marketing most of her career and owned 2 businesses. She presently does marketing and educational  events for Dutch Haven Assisted Living/Memory Care and Godfrey House Assisted Living. She bought her first house in 1970 in Edinburg. So it has been nice to return to Shenandoah County and work in the area for the past 7 years. Linda has served as President of her HOA and on the Board of Faith in Action. She is the proud Gigi of 2 grandbabies.


  Kelly Good Singleton | Bowman Andros  Foods

 Kelly Good Singleton was born and raised in Shenandoah County. After graduating from James Madison University, she spent 10  years as a 911 dispatcher in Shenandoah County and the City of Harrisonburg before advancing into the Human Resources field. She has worked for several large and small companies in Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, Rockingham and Augusta County before moving home to Shenandoah County to become the Plant Human Resource Manager for Bowman Andros Products in Mt. Jackson, Virginia. Kelly holds the SHRM-SCP certification, the highest certification awarded by the Society for Human Resources Management.

Ingrid Thompson | Shen-Paco Industries, Inc.

Ingrid has lived in Shenandoah County for 40 yrs.  Her parents moved to the county for retirement. She loved the area and decided to stay.  She has been married to Billy Thompson for 29 years and has two children Brooke 23 and Will 20.

Justin Wightman | Wightman Insurance Agency

Justin is a lifelong Edinburg resident and works for Wightman Insurance Agency in Edinburg and is a co owner of 1752 Barbecue in Woodstock. He graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC with a Bachelors Degree in Sports, Event, & Entertainment Management with a concentration in Food & Beverage Controls. He has been a Board Member of the Shenandoah County Chamber since its creation in 2012.
