The Shenandoah County Chamber is excited to announce the formation of the Strasburg Business Alliance (SBA) as a new program area of work fostering economic growth and prosperity for business members in Strasburg.
The Alliance will provide businesses with opportunities to connect through informational and educational meetings and events in order to promote the economic vitality and quality of life throughout the Strasburg community. The Alliance will positively and actively promote local business and community interests through networking, advocacy, events and education.
The broad goals of the SBA are to increase networking; hosting of an annual town festival; identify and resolving issues that impact business; and to host the Strasburg Home For The Holidays parade in December.
“Strasburg business owners approached the County Chamber to explore what opportunities exist to help maintain a cohesive and positive business environment. Business representatives met with the Chamber Board to discuss the role of the Alliance,” shared David Hutton, Chairman of the County Chamber’s Board of Directors.
In the following meetings the Strasburg business leaders elected the officers of the SBA. Kyle Slonecker, owner of Siblings Rivalry Brewery, is the Chair of the SBA; Marylisa Lichens, AFLAC, is the Vice Chair; and Secretary is Kath Stanley, manager of Lydia’s Clothes Closet; and Sharon Baroncelli, President/CEO of the County Chamber is the Chamber liaison.
"As Chair of the newly formed Strasburg Business Alliance I hope to give direction that opens the pathways of communication and cooperation that will help lead to a unified and strengthened Strasburg business community, which will benefit the town and it citizens," shared Kyle Slonecker.
Going forward the SBA will meet monthly at a central location in Strasburg and all Chamber members with interests in Strasburg are welcome to attend. Businesses who are not Chamber members are welcome to attend two meetings to decide if they would like to join the County Chamber and take part in Alliance activities.
The Strasburg Business Alliance will foster economic growth and prosperity in the Strasburg community. The Alliance will positively and actively promote local businesses and community interests through networking, advocacy, events and education.
